SEED Grant helped fund entertainment company now premiering a film at SALA

Self Help Los Alamos :: Jon Ebanks

So how exactly does a multi-media entertainment company begin? For Jonathon Ebanks’ Invisible Hand Entertainment, it was with a website.

In the fall of 2020, Self Help awarded Jonathon a SEED business grant to help launch a website for his burgeoning media company, which now offers film production, video and audio production, graphic and web design, and photography services.

“The SEED grant was basically what started the business,” says Jonathon. “I was able to get the website and get a little bit of equipment [with the grant]. I’m very, very grateful.”

Invisible Hand’s latest venture is a company film entitled Jemez Murder Mystery that will premiere at SALA Los Alamos Event Center on October 24th. The New Mexico-made film consists of a cast and crew hailing entirely from Los Alamos, Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and Las Vegas, NM.

Attendees of the film premiere will receive a gift bag, be entered into a raffle, and have the opportunity try to solve the murder mystery through an interactive app.

Creating community opportunities and events is another part of Jonathon’s mission for Invisible Hand. The company will be collaborating with Just Paint to host a series of painting classes offered by the artist Justina Medina.

“We love to give the community something to do and appreciate art in the meantime,” Jonathon says.

Self Help wishes Jonathan ongoing growth and success in fostering artistic opportunities for the local community and beyond.
